Eligiusz Józef Niewiadomski (born December 1, 1869 in Warsaw, died January 31, 1923 therein) - Polish painter, lecturer and art critic, social activist, participant in the struggle for Polish independence, sympathizer of nationalist movements, killer of the first president of the Republic of Poland, Gabriel Narutowicz, head of Department II painting, sculpture and decorative arts at the Ministry of Art and Culture in 1919 "Notes from Prison" is a political testament of Eligiusz Niewiadomski. They were written between the sentence to the death penalty for the murder of President Gabriel Narutowicz and the execution. They are a record of thoughts and ideas that the author wanted to pass on to future generations. This is an extraordinary book, showing the state of mind of a person waiting for death, who has less and less time each day to finish his political manifesto.
